I had a blast at the 39th Annual Tri-Cities Wine Festival at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick! I seized the opportunity to try out my new 3 gimbal stabilizer for video with my cell phone. It worked really well, most of the awkwardness came from operator error. Hopefully I’ll get better as I gain experience using it.
There were over 70 wineries represented, and over 200 wines available for sampling. Below is some video I shot while making the rounds doing some tasting. College Cellars in Walla Walla won double gold and best of show for their 2017 Muscat.
Next year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, November 17th.
I created a Google Virtual Tour for Tucannon Cellars and it’s live! They recently renovated the Sugar Pine Barn Event Center, added a stream and upgraded the landscaping. I love sitting on the deck behind the tasting room, glass of wine in hand. It has a large tree growing through the center, providing great shade. But don’t just take my word for it, check out the tour. Or better yet, visit in person to experience it first hand!
Just did a Google Inside View for the Purple Star Winery tasting room in Benton City, WA. Great folks and excellent wine. A little off the beaten path, but well worth it, especially if you’re interested in seeing what a working winery really looks like. Left click and drag to move around the room and click on any of the arrows to move to the next spot. Come on in and look around! They also have a couple of other labels, Native Sun Wines and Muret-Gaston Wines.
I’m a big fan of Wine and More, a great little boutique/bistro in the Southridge neighborhood of Kennewick run by the lovely and talented Anita Kenfield. You’ll find an incredible assortment of wine and related gifts. In the back is the wine bar and bistro. I am especially fond of their signature Artichoke and Spinach dip, and have consumed more than my fair share of the Steak Planks as well.
Chef Jason LeBarge has done a masterful job of bringing a little taste of France to the Tri-Cities. Lepice Spice Kitchen will transport you to a more elegant time and space, where fine dining is a pleasure to be savored. Also serving brunch on the weekends…
Happy to add Fat Olives in Richland to the growing number of businesses seeing the value in Google Street View | Trusted . I love this place, great food and an excellent local wine list. And yes, they do catering, too. Thanks, JD Nolan…
I always have a blast when I go to Basel Cellars. It’s a world-class facility, great wine and unrivaled hospitality. This venue is so much more than just a tasting room. They have overnight accommodations, 70,000 gallon pool, private theatre, spa/cabana, killer views of the vineyards and Blue Mts… you get the idea!
I had a great time photographing Kitzke Cellars the other day. They’re nestled among the vineyards and have an amazing view of the Tri-Cities. Don’t miss the lovely secluded patio/tiki bar on the back side. And you couldn’t ask for more charming and gracious hosts than Vickie and Paul Kitzke.
I did a Google night shoot for Henry Earl Cellars in Walla Walla, WA last week and am stoked with the results. This is a gorgeous tasting room in the heart of downtown Walla Walla, all brick and red leather with a secluded upstairs loft and two fireplaces. Not to be missed on any tasting tour of Walla Walla!
I had so much fun shooting this for SkyLite Cellars. Ashley was so easy to work with and Ernie the dog loved the spotlight! This is a special place, with the architecture taking it’s cue from a wine barrel. They have a great outdoor seating area with a fire pit, and a very comfortable secret little room upstairs for some peace and quiet. And winemaker Greg Matiko has been winning lots of awards recently. Be sure to stop by on your way into (or out of) Walla Walla. You won’t be disappointed!
